Why is it that all humans are classified Homo-sapien, and its wrong to call someone a Homo?

homosexual and homo sapein are two very different things and when put into context calling someone a homo is an insult. homo sapien is a term used by biologists and geneticists and would never refer to someone as a homo without hte sapien because then you could be refering to anything close to a primate.
